Course Description:
This course will extend the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) curricular approach utilized in Principles of Engineering. The first half of the course will provide students with an in-depth look at design thinking while tasking them with learning advanced fabrication methods (e.g. 3D-printing, use of CNC Routers and laser cutters, and use of power tools). During the second half of the course, students will work in teams to identify specific community stakeholders who will benefit from their work. Each group’s work will be documented in a blog and submitted for presentation to be created and organized by a select team of students from Advanced Engineering.
