Course Description:
Students will learn the basics of painting with watercolor, acrylic, and oil, utilizing a variety of supports. Students will also learn the fundamentals of design and color theory as well as become familiar with several art styles and movements. Paintings will be done from still life, life, and the imagination. Students purchase their own paints, brushes, and sketchbooks. Each student is required to do work outside of class, including sketchbook work from direct observation and a compare and contrast art presentation comparing two art movements.
