While there is no entrance exam to apply for admissions at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, we do administer a placement exam using the Scholastic Testing Services’ High School Placement Test (HSPT). We have linked the “Frequently Asked Questions” from the HSPT for your convenience. The HSPT will be required for admission for the 2022-2023 school year. The HSPT will be administered at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 8:30 am and is a mandatory component of the application process. The duration of the testing period is approximately three hours. The test will take place on the OLP campus. Test takers are asked to arrive no later than 8:10 am to be escorted to the test area. All applicants who have submitted an online application for the 2022-2023 school year will need to participate in testing on that date.
OLP remains committed to a holistic admissions process with the members of the Admissions Committee considering all aspects of an applicant’s file. Just as every student is unique, so too is every high school.
With that said, our educational professionals will evaluate the results of the HSPT. The result is to provide us with the best placement for students considering the unique rigor and scope of the curriculum at OLP.
Rather than an entrance exam, our goal is to use the HSPT to determine a student’s appropriate placement in terms of OLP’s college preparatory academic program. Our goal and intention is to use this testing for course placement purposes for students who join OLP for the 2022-2023 school year.
Students who receive the accommodation of extended time at their middle school on testing should submit documentation to [email protected] to request extended time for the HSPT no later than January 15, 2022.
Following completion of the student’s HSPT, all students and parents/guardians will receive a communication from the Office of Admissions with the date and time of their 15 - 20 minute interview with a member of the OLP faculty/staff during the week of February 7 - 10 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. If a family has a conflict with the pre-scheduled time, they will have the opportunity to reschedule for Saturday, February 5, or another first available time slot. Save the dates now!
