Victoria Magdalene McKellips ’05 is the creator of Flex Your Power Bingo/Loteria for SDG&E and FOCUSCOM, Inc.  The popular game incorporates bilingual icons which reference Energy Savings, such as Disconnect Chargers while not in use, Use Task Lighting and Keep Your Refrigerator Full.  Victoria has created the game for the San Diego Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers  (SHPE SD) for their Outreach Endeavors.  FYP Bingo/Loteria is featured as the backdrop for KPBS 2012 Local Hero Michael Cruz. www.kpbs.org/videos/2012/sep/12/5121

The game has garnered the attention of California Energy Commissioner Sandoval, who shared her own memories of playing Loteria as a child.  She lauded Victoria on her creativity and engagement of the communities through fun.

Victoria earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from the University of Texas at El Paso.  She currently is the Marketing and Membership Coordinator for the Alumnae Office at UT El Paso.  Victoria utilizes her inventiveness and organizational skills to promote the University and is busy working on the University’s Centenniel Celebrations.  She is the youngest staffer to President Natalicio.

While at OLP, Victoria served as Art and Technical Director for Fall Musicals and Spring Sing, a 3-year Academic Decathlon member, she placed city-wide several times in History and Speech.  Victoria is best known for her Collaboration with renown artist Wyland as part of the Wyland Core Group while an officer with the OLP National Art Honor Society.  As a Girl Scout Gold Awardee she worked with the Ronald McDonald House and Crayola Inc. in Easton, PA to provide parallel activities for terminally ill children and their siblings.  In the years since graduation, she has donated several of her oil paintings to OLP for their annual fundraisers. She is a gallery artist and has had showings in San Diego and El Paso, and interned with the San Diego Zoo with Zoo Artist Joe Nyiri.

Victoria is the older sister of Annamarie McKellips ’11.
