My story began back in late 2016, I wanted to start making a difference in this world of ours. When I was 14 years old, I had the idea of helping less fortunate families by providing their newborns with a safe sleeping environment. With the support of my family and friends, I founded Cribs Without Borders, an organization that knows no limits on reaching out to the neediest recipients on either side of the US and Mexican border. As of now, we have been able to help over 250 families. By personally reaching out to some of the most well-known juvenile product manufacturers such as Million Dollar Baby, Graco, Storkcraft, Baby Appleseed and Lambs & Ivy I was able to schedule meetings with the CEOs of each company. After making my presentation, with perseverance, I was able to acquire donations that include cribs, mattresses, and bedding.
The mission of Cribs Without Borders began to take shape by providing safe sleeping environments to less fortunate newborns across the border into Mexico. My organization’s slogan “Changing Lives One Footprint at a Time” speaks to the fact that these cribs are more than just a piece of furniture to the receiving families. The cribs leave a FOOTPRINT in their lives, and in some cases, the crib is the most expensive piece of furniture in the recipient families home. With lots of hard work and generous donations from others, I work with manufacturers to acquire cribs and other basic essentials at wholesale cost.
