  • M.A. in Systematic and Philosophical Theology from The Graduate Theological Union (Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley)
  • B.S. in Management Information Systems with a minor in Philosophy from Santa Clara University

Biography:

Ryan joined OLP in 2017 upon moving to San Diego from the San Francisco Bay Area where he was born and raised. While living in the Bay Area, Ryan taught Religious Studies courses at an all girls Catholic high school and at a Jesuit Cristo Rey high school. Exploring how the transformative power of Christ’s love can inform and guide analyses of and responses to current peace and justice issues in our nation and world drives Ryan’s approach to teaching and ministry.

Serving in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in New York (where he met his wife) and living in Catholic Worker houses of hospitality in the Bay Area deeply influenced Ryan’s faith journey. Ryan enjoys volunteering in parish ministries, coaching and playing basketball, trying to Hacky Sack, and hanging out with his four kids. Ryan an alumna parent, with his daughter having graduated in the Class of 2022.
