Faith & Service

Founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet in 1882, OLP has successfully educated young women for more than 130 years to meet the needs of society, always with the charism of the sisters at heart: gentleness, peace, and joy. OLP is rooted in the motto of Deus Illuminatio Mea, “God is my Light.”

A lively and rich Campus Ministry Department coordinates the entire OLP faith community in seeking to live out the ideals of Christ in the Catholic tradition. With an attitude of conviction that each of us is called to love and serve a strong peer ministry is part of all activities. Students and faculty work together with students taking leadership roles in facilitating retreats, planning liturgies, organizing justice awareness activities, and serving others in San Diego and across the world.

The department of Campus Ministry facilitates opportunities for our community to explore our Catholic faith and CSJ charism, including:

  • Daily School-Wide & Classroom Prayer
  • Weekly Chapel Prayer
  • Variety of Student-Coordinated Masses
