OLP Retreat Programming Philosophy Statement

“Fix your heart on God’s dream. Let it guide everything.” - CSJ Maxim 16

Guided by our CSJ sisters and the charism of Unifying Love, our retreat programming is centered around a spirituality of belonging. Retreats are planned and facilitated by student leaders and are created to welcome each and every student, no matter their faith practices or where they are on their spiritual journey.

In the spirit of the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, OLP has a unique retreat model that helps our students to value and prioritize their spiritual journey. With our model of “Retreat Week”, all grade-level retreats take place during a week of no academic classes, so students do not have any academic stressors or distractions. With this model, students are not asked to choose between valuable instructional class time and faith formation and can focus solely on their retreat and faith experience.

Our retreat programming is mission-centered and focuses on faith development, spiritual nourishment, sisterhood bonding, and community building. Although Retreat Week is the only time of the year that we offer all-class retreats, there are additional retreat opportunities throughout the year.

There are no additional fees to participate in OLP retreats, as all costs are covered through tuition. As such, participation in Retreat Week is considered mandatory for all students, as a regular week of school.
