Please find yourself at the three paneled mural on the first floor of Navarra Hall. The mural was commissioned in 2001 and depicts the story of our founding sisters’ journey to San Diego. The rightmost panel depicts the French countryside of Le Puy en Velay from where the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet originally hailed prior to arriving in the United States in 1836. The middle panel showcases Our Lady of Peace for whom our institution is named. The leftmost panel depicts downtown San Diego in 1882 and the small schoolhouse that was the original location of OLP until 1920 when it was moved to the current property on Oregon St. Please proceed to your next stop.
