Kristin (Dahlgren) Carter ‘96 is currently a Navy Reservist recalled to active duty to teach in the Weapons and Systems Engineering Department at the U.S. Naval Academy. She was commissioned as a Navy Officer after being in NROTC at Villanova University on May 1, 2002, and has been in the Navy for 14 years. She was on active duty as a Nuclear Power trained Surface Warfare Officer, stationed on USS COWPENS (CG 63) and USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), Nuclear Power School and Prototype in Charleston, SC, teaching at the Naval Academy. In 2010, she laterally transferred to be an Engineering Duty Officer. She did two tours as an EDO (SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific in San Diego and then on staff of the Commander, Navy Surface Force Atlantic), and then went into the reserves for a year and a half.

After graduating from OLP, Nicola Carlson '07 accepted a four-year Army ROTC scholarship to Tulane University in New Orleans. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Economics and commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer in 2011. From 2011-2016, she served on active duty in various leadership roles while stationed in Hawaii, Arizona and Colorado. In her last active assignment, she was the lead intelligence plans officer and production manager for a brigade of 4,500 soldiers. Nicola transitioned to the Army Reserves in August 2016 and continues to serve her country as an Army Captain. She also works with military families in her civilian job as a Financial Advisor for First Command.

Jenna DiMaggio '06 is currently a nurse in the Navy stationed at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. She has served six years as a Nurse Corps Officer.

In this photo, Kirsten Jackson '02 swears in her sister, Kaitlin Jackson '05, on Mt. Soledad. Kirsten is now a reservist and Kaitlin is active duty.

Amy (McKinney) Potter ‘02 serves as a CPT and behavioral health officer in the U.S. Army, supporting the psychological needs of soldiers assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson in Colorado. In 2015, Amy helped active duty service members, family members and veterans in Honolulu, HI, while completing an internship for her doctorate in psychology. She graduated from USC in 2006 and is receiving her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Alliant International University. Amy was one of OLP’s 2015 Alumnae of the Year.

Lisa Yamamoto ‘86 served as a Navy Physician in the LT US Navy 2007-2013.
