OLP Spring Pops Concert 2018!

Come celebrate the season on May 10, 2018 with OLP's Instrumental and Choral music program! We are delighted to showcase our talented students in a diverse program. On 4/19 at 3:00 there will be a full-length show for OLP students for only $4. All other tickets are $8 for Students, Seniors and Military and $12 for Adults. Purchase tickets here!

Please note there are some adult-appropriate themes and language within this show, it may not be considered appropriate for a younger audience. Additionally, it features strobe lights and smoke effects.

Get on the Bus Fundraiser - April 17, 2018

OLP's annual Get on the Bus fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, April 17th. Get on the Bus is a CSJ-sponsored program which unites children with their mothers or fathers who are in a California prison or correctional facility. Our goal this year is $2000 so that we can sponsor one bus. How can you help? For $2, students may come to school in non-uniform dress on Tuesday. We will also have a $1 an item bake sale at break that day. So bring your $3 (or more) to school on Tuesday, April 17th to support this excellent program and make many children and parents very happy! We also welcome extra donations from parents and alums. Tickets Now on Sale for BeYOUtiful Conference

5th, 6th & 7th Grade Girls are invited to our 5th annual BeYOUtiful event on April 21, 2018! Join current OLP students for an engaging morning of girl empowerment workshops and a presentation on how to create positive self esteem from a guest speaker. Girls will participate in a series of workshops focused on boosting self confidence and learning how to be a leader among their peers. The BeYOUtiful Project is an initiative created by students at OLP in an effort to empower younger girls to rise to their full potential. Purchase tickets here!

Community Day in Valle de Guadalupe Almost Sold Out!

Tickets are going fast for the OLP Community Day in Valle de Guadalupe. There are only 20 tickets left on the bus for transportation from OLP. We are looking forward to a day celebrating OLP in Valle de Guadalupe with mass in a beautiful outdoor chapel, family-style lunch with music, lawn games, wine and olive oil tastings, and tours of the Casa Magoni Winery. We welcome all OLP and Saints families, future Pilots, alumnae families, and their friends.

2018 - 2019 OLP Dance Team Interest Meeting

Interested in participating on the OLP Dance team? We are happy to announce that OLP Athletics will be offering a competitive dance team/program for the 2018-2019 school year. OLP dance teacher, Kelly Marshall will be taking on the role of head coach and is excited to offer this new program to our students. There will be an informational meeting for interested parents and students on Monday, April 30th at 6:30 PM in the theater.

Peer Tutoring is Back!
Student tutors from our National Honor Society are available Monday through Thursday during lunch (12:05 - 12:50 pm) and after school (2:30 - 3:15 pm) starting February 5. Tutoring is being offered in almost every subject and there is no need to make an appointment, students can just stop by the Student Commons and our Peer Tutors will be happy to help! Cheer Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2018-2019 OLP Cheer team will be April 25th and 26th from 3:30-5:30 pm in the Holy Family Event Center. In order to tryout, you will need to turn in this completed waiver
to Coach Popp on the first day. Please wear black shorts, a plain white t-shirt, athletic shoes, and a bow.
 
Competitive Dance Team Informational Meeting

We are happy to announce that OLP Athletics will be offering a competitive dance team for the 2018-2019 school year. Ms. Kelly Marshall will be the head coach and is excited to offer this new program to the students. There will be an informational meeting on Monday, April 30th at 6:30 PM in the OLP Theater for interested students and parents. Please complete this form to let us know if you will be in attendance.

Swim Against Cancer

On Sunday, April 29th, from 12-2pm, the OLP swim team will be hosting a Swim Across America Pool Swim event to raise money for cancer research. Swim Across America's motto is "Make Waves to Fight Cancer." Participants will swim in honor of family, friends, and loved ones that have been touched by cancer. The event will take place at the Brian Bent Memorial Aquatic Center ( 818 6th St.  Coronado, CA 92118 ). All swimmers are asked to donate $20 during the online registration to participate, but we encourage swimmers to each raise more, if possible. Every swimmer who participates will receive a Swim Across America cap, bracelet, and tattoos!  Also, there are prizes for various levels of money raised. Once your page is created and you are signed up for the event, you can forward the link to your family and friends and ask them to donate on your behalf by clicking the "Donate" button and typing in your name. Lacrosse
 
JV: The Pilots continue an incredible season with a current 7 game winning streak. The JV team pulled out a 8-7 win to beat Serra High School in the final minutes of the game. The team was led by captains Amy Hickman '20 and Seney Larson Moreno '21 with 3 goals each. Isabel Wallace '20 sealed the win with 5 saves in goal. Yesterday, they faced Bishops and yet another 11-7 win. Hickman led the team with 4 goals, while Chloe James '21 followed with 3 goals. Marian Vizcaya '21 had her first goal of the season!
 
Varsity: This week, the Pilots gained 2 more league wins. On Wednesday, they beat Hoover High School 19-1. Bailey Gehler '19 led the team with 4 goals and 2 assists while Gabby Belsito '18 also had 4 goals and Taly Ferrante '21 had 3 goals and 4 assists. Allie Stowe '19 achieved her second win as a goalkeeper allowing only 1 goal on 5 shots. Yesterday, they beat Serra High School 14-7. Complete team effort, strong defense, and controlled attack led to the surprisingly easy victory.
 
Swim & Dive
Yesterday, the Pilots fell to Coronado High School. Andrea Deinard '19, Andrea Moreland-Tellez '20, Sarah Glick '21, and Maria Dominguez '21 were standout swimmers at the meet.
 
Softball
 
JV: Last week, the Pilots started off the week with an exciting win over Serra High School 7-5. Jiovana Nuanez '21 had a great game in hitting as well as pitching three innings and catching four.
 
Varsity: The Varsity Pilots also beat Serra High School with a final score of 9-1. Kelsey Way '18 pitched well to catcher Kayley Gibbons '18. Gibbons played a tough game behind the plate, giving her all on every play.  Natalia Frias '21 had 2 doubles in her 1st game as leadoff batter. Jenny Massey '18 went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, doing her job to get on base. The Pilots did a great job bringing positive energy to the first league game of the season
 
Track & Field

Yesterday, the Pilots beat Serra High School in an all out battle event for event. Last week, Anastasia Popp '20 got her personal record (PR) in high jump and yesterday she got it in triple jump. Yazmeen Konja '21 got a PR in long jump.
