Calendar Update

Please note that the last day of classes, Monday, May 21, 2018 is now an Early Dismissal Day with a 12:45 dismissal. The time honored tradition of the Senior Farewell Assembly will take place on this day from 11:45 am-12:45 pm in the Holy Family Event Center. Parents of the Class of 2018 are welcome to attend. 

2018 - 2019 OLP Dance Team Interest Meeting

Interested in participating on the OLP Dance team? We are happy to announce that OLP Athletics will be offering a competitive dance team/program for the 2018-2019 school year. OLP dance teacher, Kelly Marshall will be taking on the role of head coach and is excited to offer this new program to our students.  There will be an informational meeting for interested parents and students on Monday, April 30th at 6:30 PM in the theater.

Smart City Saturday "Teen Only" Hackathon on April 21st!

Smart City Saturday (SCS) is where the next generation of teen leaders, problem solvers, and entrepreneurs tackle our city's most pressing challenges. In this one-day, teen-only hackathon, participants utilize design thinking to solve and pitch solutions to civic issues. Congressman Scott Peters will be presenting opening remarks this Saturday! SCS also has $1,000 worth of prize money to give away to the winning teams! Click here to apply!

We will be celebrating our parent volunteers who have graciously donated their time and talents this year. Summer Enrichment Camps at OLP!

Girls entering 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grade in the fall can experience the magic of an all girls' school environment. Our wide variety of STEM-focused camps are taught by our experienced OLP faculty, students, and alumnae. Camps will take place from July 9th - July 20th, with each camp running one week long. These full-day camps will run Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 3:00pm. The regular camp fee is $300. Register Here!

OLP Spring Pops Concert 2018!

Come celebrate the season on May 10, 2018 with OLP's Instrumental and Choral music program!We are delighted to showcase our talented students in a diverse program. The concert will take place in the OLP Theater. Tickets are $10 for general public and $5 for students. Reserve your tickets now! Limited space available. Class of 2018 Graduation Accessories Now on Sale!

There are two optional graduation accessories that members of the Class of 2018 may purchase to wear during Commencement. Please note: Although there are two choices to purchase, you may wear only one of these accessories during the ceremony.

The last day to purchase an accessory is Sunday, May 20 at 4:00 PM.

High school students (age 13 and up) are invited to participate in the City of San Diego's Summer Mentoring Program! Peer Tutoring is Back!

Student tutors from our National Honor Society are available Monday through Thursday during lunch (12:05 - 12:50 pm) and after school (2:30 - 3:15 pm) starting February 5. Tutoring is being offered in almost every subject and there is no need to make an appointment, students can just stop by the Student Commons and our Peer Tutors will be happy to help! SAHS Spring Formal

Saint Augustine High School is inviting OLP Freshmen and Sophomores to their annual spring formal "May the Fourth Be With You!" on Friday, May 4th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Cheer Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2018-2019 OLP Cheer team will be April 25th and 26th from 3:30-5:30 pm in the Holy Family Event Center. In order to tryout, you will need to turn in this completed waiver
to Coach Popp on the first day. Please wear black shorts, a plain white t-shirt, athletic shoes, and a bow.
Swim Against Cancer

On Sunday, April 29th, from 12-2pm, the OLP swim team will be hosting a Swim Across America Pool Swim event to raise money for cancer research. Swim Across America's motto is "Make Waves to Fight Cancer." Participants will swim in honor of family, friends, and loved ones that have been touched by cancer. The event will take place at the Brian Bent Memorial Aquatic Center ( 818 6th St.  Coronado, CA 92118 ). All swimmers are asked to donate $20 during the online registration to participate, but we encourage swimmers to each raise more, if possible. Every swimmer who participates will receive a Swim Across America cap, bracelet, and tattoos!  Also, there are prizes for various levels of money raised. To register, please CLICK HERE and click the "register" button. Please sign up as an individual. Once your page is created and you are signed up for the event, you can forward the link to your family and friends and ask them to donate on your behalf by clicking the "Donate" button and typing in your name. This Week's Recap:

Last Saturday, the Pilots competed in the OAS State Championships. Cat deFrates '18, Isa Velarde '19 and Lily Lucero '18 shot really well throughout the tournament with Lucero winning the State Championship in the girls division.

JV: Last Friday, JV Lacrosse fell to Mt. Carmel, down 0-5 at half time, the Pilots rallied in the second half scoring 4 goals. They ultimately lost 4-8 but played well against this Division I competitor. On Monday, they secured their 8th win of the season with a 8-4 finish over La Jolla Country Day. Isabel Wallace '20 had a strong game with 5 saves in goal. Chloe James '21 led the team with 4 goals. Sophia Fleming '19 had her first goal of the season, and Marisol Teran '19 also had an impressive goal.
Varsity: The Pilots faced a strong Mt. Carmel last Friday shocking many with a 12-8 win.  Scoring was spread out by Bailey Gehler, '19 with 7 goals, Olivia Tubao '19 with 2 goals and 1 assist, Taly Ferrante '21 with 2 goals, and Gabby Belsito '18 with 1 goal.  Jenelle Cedillo '20 had 12 saves to anchor a strong defense lead by Sofia Rojo-Kratochvil '20, Gabby Dixon '19, Teri Gonzalez '18, and Chloe Faucher '19. On Wednesday, the Pilots beat Lincoln 13-0.

Varsity Softball fell to a tough Clairemont High School 1-5 on on Saturday.

Swim & Dive
Last Friday, the Pilots had an exciting win over Mater Dei.  Kaitlyn Coons '20 qualifies for CIF in the 100 breaststroke, Annie Danaher '19 qualifies for City Conference in the 100 breaststroke, while Sarah Glick '21 and Maria Dominguez '21 swam the best times in all of their events. Rachel Amaral '18 and Bella Ah Moo '21 made their varsity cuts! 

Track & Field

Yesterday, the Pilots faced La Jolla High School. Liliana Morales '19 set another PR and broke her own record in the long jump with a distance of 18'1". Yasmeen Konja '21 leads her team in the pole vault with a height of 6 feet 6 inches with teammates Adriana Carmona '19, Cindy Tran '21 and Jessica Lindgren '18 just behind her. Daniela Mireles '19 also had a great showing with personal records in both her throwing events. Alex Boren '21 came in first overall in the 800m.
