All parents are welcome to join us for Coffee with Counselors on April 11 at 8 AM in the Carondelet Library. We look forwarding to welcoming our special guest speaker, David Stoeckel, from The College Recruiting Group. The topic will be Playing Sports in College. Mr. Stoeckel's presentation will include information on the prerequisites to being successfully recruited, the 3 reasons why talented athletes are not recruited, the single most valuable recruiting tool, plus much more valuable information for the college-bound student-athlete. This presentation is open to all OLP parents.

5th, 6th & 7th Grade Girls are Invited to Our 5th Annual BeYOUtiful Event! Join current OLP students for an engaging morning of girl empowerment workshops and a presentation on how to create positive self esteem from a guest speaker. Girls will participate in a series of workshops focused on boosting self confidence and learning how to be a leader among their peers. The BeYOUtiful Project is an initiative created by students at OLP in an effort to empower younger girls to rise to their full potential.

Father-Daughter Honky Tonk: All Grade Levels

Dust off your cowboy boots! Ask your dad or father figure to save the date: Friday, April 13thfrom 7-10pm. All 9-12 students are invited to a honky tonk country dance on our lovely OLP campus! You and your dad will have an awesome time learning some line dances and eating tasty fair-themed food. There will be awards for the best duo's dance moves and country-costumes! You are welcome to gather up a few friends and attend as a group with one dad. Join us for a boot stompin' good time! Attire: Country casual! Jeans and dresses are encouraged. (No bare midriffs, low-cut or backless tops, no shorts).

While this new event takes place of the senior-only father-daughter dance, there will be a VIP section and special recognition for seniors and their dads. Click here to purchase tickets!

Wanted by the FBI: San Diego FBI Teen Academy Applicants

The FBI Teen Academy is an opportunity for students to spend an interactive day with special agents and professional staff at the FBI building in Sorrento Valley. Students will participate in both classroom and hands-on activities while learning about the FBI's core values. For example, classes will offer an insider's look into FBI investigations into gangs, drugs, and terrorism, as well as involve discussions about the FBI's use of computer forensics in cyber investigations. Learn more.

Literary Magazine is Currently Accepting Art and Writing Submissions!

Calling all writers and artists! Literary Magazine is currently accepting submissions. You may send a maximum of 3 submissions to Mrs. Gascho if you are interested. You will be notified by email once your submission is received and once again once it is approved. ALL ENTRIES DUE MONDAY, MARCH 26!

CSF Membership for Seniors

The California Scholarship Federation is now accepting applications for 3rd quarter grades from all current Seniors. Applications can be found online or outside room 201 and must be turned in with a print out of your official 3rd quarter grades to Ms. Cunningham (Room 201) NO LATER THAN Tuesday, April 10th at 2:15pm. No late applications or applications without printed grades will be accepted. Apply to be a Link Crew Leader!

Any Sophomores or Juniors that are interested in applying to become a Link Crew leader for next year are invited to attend one of the two informational meetings. Come to Room 202 at lunch on April 9th or April 12th to pick up an application and learn all about what it takes to be part of the Pilot Link Crew! Peer Tutoring is Back!
Student tutors from our National Honor Society are available Monday through Thursday during lunch (12:05 - 12:50 pm) and after school (2:30 - 3:15 pm) starting February 5. Tutoring is being offered in almost every subject and there is no need to make an appointment, students can just stop by the Student Commons and our Peer Tutors will be happy to help! Athletics Announcements
This Week's Recap: 
Taly Ferrante '21 had 4 goals and 2 assists for the Pilots. On Tuesday, they beat Hoover 12-1. Seven different Pilots scored in this game while Bailey Gehler '19 had 3 goals and 3 assists and Ferrante '21 had 3 goals.
Track and Field
The Pilots competed in the 15th annual Elmer Runge Invitational and brought home some medals. Marla Hart '19 placed 1st in her heat for the 100m and 3rd for long jump, Daniela 
Mireles '19 placed 5th in her flight for throws, Jenna Beck '20 placed 1st in her heat and 
Lilli Bass '19 placed 3rd and ran a PR (personal record) in her heat for the 800m. Also notable,
Yasmeen Konja '21 competed in the pole vault, successfully clearing the opening height of 6' (first time since 2002), and also competed in the long jump and placed 3rd in her flight. Yesterday, Liliana Morales '19 achieved a new school record in the triple jump at 35'3".  

Last Friday, JV Softball fell to Eastlake. On Tuesday, Varsity beat Valley Center 4-2. Kyra Davis '19 led the team offensively, going 3-3 along with Solana Martinez '19 going 3-4. Capitan Kaleigh Lane '18 hit her third homer in for the year scoring two runs for her team. Isabella "Isa" Buckley '21 stepped it up behind the plate, catching her 2nd game in a row for the team. On Thursday, the Pilots fell to Grossmont 2-5. Kelsey Way '18 pitched a competitive game against the Division I team. Catcher Kayley Gibbons '18 went 2-3, hitting two hard line drives up the middle.
