Parent Volunteers Wanted!

Mrs. Wyatt is looking for parent volunteers to supervise college visits on the OLP campus from September 10 to November 2.

Parents will be assigned a weekly, 1-hour time slot to chaperone college rep visits on the OLP campus per our needs. We are not able to accommodate requests to chaperone specific colleges.
Visits occur Monday-Thursday at 9am, 10:15am and 1:30pm; Fridays at 9am, 10am, and 12pm. You would need to be available every week during that time slot.
The parent volunteer's role is to ensure students are behaving in an appropriate, respectful manner during the college visitation.
Interested parents will be contacted by Mrs. Sanborn, regarding their availability and will be required to attend a mandatory training workshop and submit live scan and TB test results.

This is a great opportunity to broaden your "college knowledge"!

This Week's Recap:
JV: The JV tennis team had another amazing victory against The Bishop's School on Monday winning by a score of 16-2. Standout players include Giulia Piraino '21 and her partner Lucia Araujo '22 who won all three of their sets and went to a tiebreak for two out of the three sets. Valeria Padilla '22 also made amazing comebacks in the two matches she played. Another win against Patrick Henry on Tuesday, with a final score of 16-2. Everyone on the team performed amazingly. Stunning groundstrokes came from Andrea Perez '22 and unbelievable aggressive volleys came from Katiana Yazdani '22. "Who's next?" says captain Greta Drachenberg '20. In the tightest match of the season, JV tennis was unable to beat Scripps Ranch. Despite the loss, the two teams were neck and neck throughout the entire three and a half hour match. All players fought hard with spectacular performances coming from doubles team, Ana Ramirez '21 and Anjali Paye '21 and singles player Anna Fontes '21. We'll get 'em next time pilots!
Varsity: Varsity Tennis finished the week with a 2-1 record in their three matches. They started the week with a tough loss to Bishop's 5-13. OLP quickly bounced back with a decisive 14-4 win over the Eastlake Titans. League on Thursday and the team battled Scripps Ranch to earn their first league win in their first league game of the season. The entire squad fought for every point while also showing grace and composure when the game scores were tight.
JV: The JV Blue came away with the victory in a closely contested match against University City on Thursday. Led by captain Chloe Faucher's '19 score of 42, the Pilots won by a single stroke! Great job to the entire team! They will look to keep this momentum going into their match next week with La Jolla. JV White also earned a victory this week over Patrick Henry with a 46 stroke margin of victory. Allison Moya '20 shot the low score of the match with a 37.
Varsity: The Varsity Golf Team defeated La Jolla High at Carlton Oaks Country Club on Monday for their first league win of the season. Maria Ines Acosta '20 shot 45, her best score of the season, to help the Pilots get the win. The team picked up their second straight win of the week when they defeated the mighty Dons of Cathedral Catholic at Lomas Sante Fe Country Club. Maria Ines Acosta '20 and Catalin Yturralde '19 both played well for OLP and Brooke Ryback '21 shot the lowest score of the match, a one-over-par 37, to take home medalist honors.
Cross Country
The OLP Cross Country teams finally got a chance to compete in their first meet of the year last Friday at the Mustang Invitational in Rohr Park in Bonita.
