Traffic and Road Safety Reminder

In effort to ensure the safety of our students, parents and fellow neighbors, please review the Do's and Don'ts of driving etiquette at OLP.


  • Be conscientious and courteous of neighbors, dogs, pedestrians and each other
  • Observe all speed limits (25 mph or less on all streets, including Adams Avenue)
  • Observe all stop signs
  • Obey all instructions from the certified Traffic Controllers
  • Use the designated drop-off point inside Circle Drive
  • Display Parking Permit at all times
  • Respect the cones
  • DO NOT:

  • Block driveways, red zones or alleys Double park, even in alleyways

    Please mark your calendars for OLP's annual Grandparents Day on Friday, November 16. The day will consist of brunch, campus tours, Mass, and professional portrait opportunities.     Important** It is The French Gourmet's policy not to turn girls away when they purchase food at Common Grounds or in the Pilot Cafe, with a zero or negative balance on their student account. We have an honor system and ask that the girls return with payment or add money to their MealTime account to cover the amount due.  Please be reminded that the student account is not a "credit" account. Kindly settle any negative account balances before OLP recesses for Spring break. Reminder messages will be sent through JupiterEd.

    Fall Blood Drive

    The OLP Fall Semester blood drive takes place on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM. If you wish to donate, click here to schedule an appointment. You must be in good health the day you donate and

  • Be at least 17 years old
  • Weigh at least 114 lbs
  • Be free of major cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Have a photo ID with birthdate
  • If you are an OLP student donor, you also need a completed permission slip (Link to the permission slip will be posted later).

    Students, if you are interested in volunteering for the drive please come to the volunteer meeting Sept. 12, during Lunch, in room 108. Plan to bring your lunch from home as we will need to begin the meeting at 12:10 PM. Even if you can not donate, you may volunteer to work the Blood Drive.

    Club Expo Week

    Club Expo Week will take place during lunch Tuesday, Sept. 4 - Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. All clubs will host a table featuring the mission, purpose and highlights of their club! Students are encouraged to visit the Club Expo during lunch on Lower Plaza. Explore your passions, join a club!

    Student Poll Opportunity

    On Tuesday, November 6, the United States will hold a general election across the country. High
    school students are eligible to work at the polls on Election Day. In order to be a poll worker, students must be 16 years of age by Election Day, have a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, be a United States citizen or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States. In addition, the County of San Diego requires students to obtain written permission from their school and a parent or guardian.

    Student poll workers will:
    Be assigned to serve as a Touchscreen Inspector or Clerk on a precinct board
    Complete required online and classroom trainings
    Pick up supplies and equipment on Saturday & Sunday, October 27 & 28, 2018 if assigned as a Touchscreen Inspector, and store those supplies/equipment in a secure location until setting up the polls
    Assist in the set-up of the polling place on Election Eve, Monday, November 5
    Work under the supervision of a Precinct Inspector from 5:45 a.m. until approximately 10:00 p.m. on Election Day
    Student poll workers who complete their Election Day trainings and assignment will receive:
    A stipend of $100 to $145 for each student
    An additional $15 if assigned a bilingual position in Arabic, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Spanish, or Vietnamese
    A certificate signed by the Registrar of Voters for up to 21 hours of community service

    If you are interested in participating in this program, you must complete an application form and return it to Dr. Blade no later than Tuesday, September 11 by lunchtime. Your parents or guardians must sign the application. The application form and a question and answer sheet are available on Mrs. Prantil's desk. Please see Dr. Blade if you have questions.

    OLP/Saints Frosh Tailgate

    Come hang out with your classmates and make new friends at the annual OLP-Saints Frosh Tailgate! The Tailgate will be held on Friday, September 7, from 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm in the Mesa College Parking Lot 2. The football game begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and include food, drink, and fun. The last day to purchase Tailgate tickets is September 5th - don't wait! Purchase Tickets Here! Tickets for the game will be sold on Wednesday, September 5th at lunch and at the gate on Friday, September 7th.

    OLP Homecoming

    On September 15, 2018, the Academy of our Lady of Peace will host its FIRST EVER Homecoming Dance! Our first annual OLP Homecoming will be for everyone: Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

    Early bird special pricing tickets are available HERE for OLP students and their guests starting on Monday, August 27 through Monday, September 3, 2018. All OLP students need to turn in a Dance Agreement form prior to purchasing a ticket. Forms are available in Mrs. Marlena Conroy's Office.

    If an OLP student would like to invite an off-campus guest, OLP students can pick up an application from Mrs. Marlena Conroy. Students must submit the Off-Campus Guest Application and receive approval prior to purchasing a ticket for a guest. Tickets will be open to Saints starting on Tuesday, September 4th (limited number of tickets available).

    Athletics Announcements
    With the first two weeks of competition under our belts, the Pilots have seen the positive results of their hard work over the summer. Golf, Tennis and Volleyball teams have competed in multiple competitions. Cross Country will have their first meet on September 7th in Rohr Park when they compete in the Mustang Invitational.     Equestrian Team

    Any student interested in joining the OLP Equestrian team is asked to attend an interest meeting Wednesday, September 5th at lunch in the Library. No need to bring your horse :).

    OLP Dance and Cheer

    While games and matches are always notable, the countless hours of preparing for performances is also worth noting. Both our Dance and Cheer teams continue to practice every day of the school week. Whether it's morning or afternoon practices, you can count on one of these two teams working on their routines for cheer competitions and Saints football games. Go Pilots!!!

    This Week's Recap:

    First Serve Tournament
    The Pilots participated in the annual First Serve Tournament, hosted by Valhalla and Granite Hills High School. Both JV and Varsity participated and played 5 rounds of matches. JV came in 1st place, winning their entire draw and only dropping one set all day. They defeated Westview in the championship round. Every player performed well, with standout play from #1 doubles team Ana Ramirez '21/Anjali Paye '21 and #3 doubles team Giulia Piraino '21/Lucia Araujo '22. Varsity finished in 2nd place, winning four rounds before coming up short against San Dieguito in the finals. The whole team worked hard and performed well, with standout play from #2 doubles team Luisa Garcia '21/Rebeca Gonzalez '20, who went undefeated, not dropping a set to any other team. Overall, it was a great day for the Pilots!

    JV: The JV blue golf team competed in a match Tuesday against Scripps Ranch high school. The girls played their best but unfortunately suffered their first defeat of the season. Freshman Maya McKone-Sweet '22 had the low score of the round for the Pilots! Their next match is Thursday the 30th against Francis Parker. On Wednesday, The JV blue golf team got their first win of the season at Riverwalk Golf Course. Congratulations to Blue team captain Chloe Faucher '19 for medaling in the match!
    Varsity: The golf team headed to famed Torrey Pines Golf Course for its first match of the season, where they came out victorious versus University City. Senior Catalin Yturralde '19 and sophomore Brooke Ryback '21 both shot 39 and earned Medalist Honors. The Varsity Golf Team won their second straight match of the season defeating Bonita Vista at Riverwalk Golf Club. Sophomore Brooke Ryback '21 led the way for the Pilots shooting at 1 over par 37. Although it was a tough loss for the Pilots against Francis Parker, Senior Catalin Yturralde '19 led the way for the Pilots shooting an even-par 36 at Riverwalk Golf Club. The Pilots headed to Bernardo Heights Country Club to take on last season's Division 1 CIF Champs, Rancho Bernardo. Sophomore Brook Ryback '21 led the way for the Pilots shooting 39. The Pilots hope to bounce back on Tuesday when they face off against Coronado in their first league match of the season.

    Frosh: The Frosh Pilots took on Mission Vista on Friday, August 24th. What started off as a neck and neck match between the two teams, was soon swept away by the Pilots. Finishing 25-13 in both sets, the Pilots scored 11 aces overall as a team. Anna Gavagan '22 scored 3 kills and Kate Tontz '22 contributed 3 digs with 2 kills. Victoria Scelfo '22 held a strong back-row presence with 7 digs. The Pilots took on the La Jolla High School Vikings at home on August 29th for a riveting match. Trailing the Vikings 5-9 to begin the match, the Pilots came back to defeat the Vikings 25-18 in the first set. The second set saw Pilots down 20-24 when Malone Dougherty '22 subbed in to serve 3 straight serves to bring the Pilots fighting for the win. They came up just short at 23-25. Game 3 was a nail biter to the finish, seeing both setters Giavanna Russo '22 and Isabella Woo '22 step in with major defensive plays and assists, as well as a pivotal back-row kill from opposite hitter Claire Poinsett '22. The Vikings took the third set 12-15 to seal the match, but the Pilots defended their home court with heart and fervor. Setter Giavanna Russo '22 led the team in spirit with 8 assists, 4 digs and an ace. Middle blocker Gabby Baldeaux '22 held a powerful front row presence at the net with 7 kills. Outside Anna Gavagan '22 added 3 kills, 3 digs, and 2 aces. Victoria Scelfo '22 defended the court with 6 digs and 2 aces.
    JV: Although they started off strong with a win in the first set, the Pilots fell short in the second and third set. 25-17, 24-26, 7-15. Junior Middle Blocker, Sarah Callahan '20, led the team in blocks with 4. Junior Outside Valentina Perez-Rocha '20 hitter with 8 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Cianna Kelly '21 with 5 kills and Junior Libero, Jenna Beck '20, led the team in defense with 9 digs. While they gave the Vikings all they had, the Pilots fell short. Trailing 2 sets to none 22-25, 20-25. Sophomore outside hitter Makena Boles '21 had 8 kills. Daniela Andrade '21, Sophomore setter led the team with 4 aces, and Junior Libero, Jenna Beck '20, kept them alive with 8 defensive digs.
    Varsity: OLP claims a 3-0 victory over Mission Vista with scores of 25-21, 25-15, 27-25. Senior setter, Olivia DiNapoli '19, led the offense with 28 assists. Strong serve receive and defense by Seniors Caroline Belmontez '19 and Sara Marty '19 kept the game in their control even during long rallies. Senior Outside Hitter, Eden Koria '19 set the offensive pace with 8 aces and 13 kills for the night, but this victory was truly a team win, as everyone contributed. OLP battled through a tough 4 set match vs. La Jolla High School but came up a few points short with scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-27, 21-25.
