SAINTS’ IMPROV TEAM – CHECK OUT OUR IMPROV TEAM THIS FRIDAY, SEPT. 23, IN ROOM 316 FROM 1:05 TO 2:05. Visitors are welcome, and No experience is necessary. This is a chance to learn a new skill, have Fun, and train with some of San Diego’s finest comedians from the National Comedy Theater.
Fall Senior Retreat
Attention Seniors! Do you already need to get away? If so, please prayerfully consider making your senior retreat this fall, Wednesday – Friday November 2-4. Space is limited, so in order to secure a spot, you will need to complete two permission slips (one for OLP and a Waiver from Whispering Winds) as well as make a deposit or payment in full ($80 deposit with the balance due Oct 15 or $160 in full when you sign up – these are non-refundable). The forms and Eventbrite payment link can all be found on your Class of 2017 Jupiter Ed page and should be turned into Room 208 in the “Drop Off” tray just inside the door to the right. Sign ups will take place throughout the month of September (or until all the spots are filled) and no sign ups will be accepted after Friday, Sept 30. See Mrs. Allen for more details, questions or concerns.
Student Poll Workers Program
The presidential election will be held on Tuesday, November 8 of this year. The Student Poll Worker program allows high school students to serve as poll workers on election day. To be a poll worker, you must be at least 16 years old on or before November 8, be an American citizen or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence to the United States and have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. If you are interested in doing this, you may obtain an application form on Mrs. Prantil’s desk. If you have questions, please see Dr. Blade in St. Catherine’s by the Counseling Offices. The deadline to return this application to Dr. Blade is Friday, September 23 by 12:45 PM.
OLP Blood Drive
The Academy of Our Lady of Peace invites you to help the San Diego Blood Bank save lives. This semester the OLP Blood Drive will be on September 27th in Circle Drive.
To donate you must be 16 years or older and weigh at least 114 pounds.
According to FDA regulations, if you live in Mexico you are not eligible to donate due to the risk of malaria. Also, anyone who has traveled to Mexico must be back in an unrestricted area for 4 weeks before they are eligible to donate.
