Education & Credentials:

- BA in Education with a minor in English from Temple University
Jamie Flannery has a passion for all-girls education. She is an alumna of The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Pennsylvania. During her time at the academy, she was given the tools to think creatively, to ask hard questions, confidently express opinions, and strive for excellence. Jamie has an extensive background in education. Before joining OLP’s faculty in 2012, she taught at La Jolla Country Day School, the Archdiocese of San Diego, Merion Mercy Academy, and Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, both in Philadelphia. Her philosophy about education is that each student is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. She strives to help students meet their fullest potential by providing a safe environment, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. In her classroom, she strives to empower students to become lifelong learners, collaborators, creators, and global citizens striving always for excellence, tempered by “gentleness, peace, and joy.” She feels blessed to work in a school that is cultivating young women of heart, women of faith, and women of courage. Being a teacher isn’t just what she does; it’s a big part of who she is.
Jamie is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and an aunt. She is constantly trying to balance her roles with compassion, grace, faith, and laughter. Jamie is a champion of Catholic education and like our parents at OLP, she too makes the sacrifice of sending both of her children to a Catholic school. When she isn’t teaching or planning student events, Jamie loves spending time with her family, cooking, and reading.
