The Class of 2025 will come together off campus at Southern California’s premiere Catholic retreat center in Julian for their final all-class retreat. They will have the opportunity to be our first all-class, off-campus overnight retreat in over 5 years and get to enjoy their time together up in the mountains for a special overnight retreat. Their retreat begins on OLP’s campus at 8:00 AM  when we will load the buses and head up to Whispering Winders together.

Seniors will hear personal testimonies from their peers of their challenges and joys in their personal faith journeys. Each participant will share and reflect during the retreat in an intimate small group setting. All seniors will enjoy firepits, treats, beautiful trails and outdoor activities, game room, and spending the night in beautiful, indoor accommodations. Then, we will board the buses at 10:00 AM Tuesday to drive back to OLP.  This retreat experience is meant to strengthen one’s individual relationship with God, deepen their sense of self through personal reflection, and deepen their bonds with their classmates as they head into their final semester at OLP.

After their overnight retreat last year on campus the Class of 2025 asked us if they could PLEASE do their Senior retreat ‘up in the mountains.’   We wanted to do everything we could to make this special retreat happen for the girls this year, and make sure it is the very best it can possibly be.  OLP will cover 75% of the cost of the retreat per student. The cost of this special and memorable off-campus Senior Overnight Retreat for each student is $40. Financial assistance will be available on a case by case basis. Additional information about this payment and off-campus retreat will be sent out very soon.

Seniors will NOT report to campus on January 8th, 9th, or 10th. Students are encouraged to use these days for serving in the community, self-care, and preparing for the start of the spring semester.

2025 Overall Retreat Week Reminders

  • In the spirit of presence, unifying love, and sisterhood, students, including retreat leaders, will be challenged to participate in a Cell Phone Free Retreat Experience during the duration of the retreat week. Please keep cell phones silenced and out of sight. Students may use their cell phones at the end of retreat, to communicate with parents regarding pick-up.
  • During Retreat Week non-uniform dress is encouraged. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes per the non-uniform dress guidelines in the Parent-Student Handbook.
  • All students are asked to bring a reusable water bottle, personal journal, and pen. Snacks and meals are provided. Please see the packing list specific for Junior and Senior overnight Retreats listed above.

Guided by our CSJ sisters and the charism of "unifying love", our retreat programming is centered around a spirituality of belonging.

Retreats are planned and facilitated by student leaders and are created to welcome each and every student, no matter their faith practices or where they are on their spiritual journey.

Fix your heart on God’s dream. Let it guide everything

CSJ Maxim 16

In order to meet the many demands on students life today, OLP has a unique retreat model that helps our students to value and prioritize their spiritual journey. With our model of “Retreat Week”, all grade-level retreats take place during a week of no academic classes, removing additional academic burdens. With this model, students are not asked to choose between valuable instructional class time and faith formation. This allows them to focus on their retreat and faith experience.

  • Our retreat programming is mission-centered and focuses on faith development, spiritual growth, sisterhood, and community building. Although Retreat Week is the only time of the year that we offer all-class retreats, additional retreat opportunities are offered throughout the year.
  • Unless otherwise noted, there are no additional fees to participate in OLP retreats. All costs are covered through tuition.  Retreat Week - attendance at both days of a student’s grade level retreat - is mandatory for all students
