Newsies is a musical based on the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. The musical follows the story of a group of scrappy newsboys who band together to fight against unfair working conditions and prices set by the powerful newspaper publishers. The musical features energetic dance numbers and memorable songs, including “Seize the Day” and “King of New York.” Newsies received critical acclaim and won two Tony Awards when it debuted on Broadway in 2012.
OLP is happy to welcome back choreographer Wilfred Paloma — choreographer for 2021’s Shrek — along with our own Mr. Tracy as director and Dr. Dicce as music director.
