This semester, the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honors Society Executive Board organized events for our OLP student body to engage in conversation around historical events with modern connections. The group recently hosted a viewing party of the 2018 documentary “Prosecuting Evil,” about Ben Ferencz – the last surviving Nuremberg Trials Prosecutor – who persists in his lifelong advocacy for a more humane world through “law, not war.” The following seminar served as an opportunity for attendees to think deeply and voice their opinions.

Looking ahead to what’s to come in March and April, the Executive Board planned a colloquium series open to all students. There are four exciting discussions planned, each with an interesting topic: Women’s Rights in the Global South, on March 17, Consumerism, on March 21, Housing Segregation, on March 31, and Militarization, on April 6. Rho Kappa is looking forward to giving students the chance to take a thorough dive into these specific topics and participate in civil discourse with their peers.
