The 2021 Mock Trial season came to a close as of Saturday, February 20, 2021.

It was an unusual and difficult year due to COVID-19 with all scrimmages and competitions taking place virtually. OLP placed in the top ten schools out of 28 that competed countywide this season. OLP has been part of Mock Trial competitions for approximately ten years, placing in the top ten schools for the past eight years.

This year, Mock Trial welcomed a new OLP teacher and coach, the amazing Ms. Kristen Busch, who was the team’s technology wizard and kept them organized and efficient throughout the season. They also welcomed a new attorney coach, federal prosecutor Brandon Kimura. Attorney Warren Den returned as a coach this year. The team would like to thank their attorney coaches for all of their time, effort, and expertise in preparing the students for competition. Their experience and insight of the law added to the student’s knowledge and proper courtroom decorum.

We would also like the thank seniors Anjali Paye, Catherine Tamayo, Presley Rayon, Alyse Salcedo, and Ana Rameriz, many that have been part of Mock Trial for the past four years. They will be sorely missed next year and we wish them well in their future endeavors.

The team is looking forward to next year with the hopes it will be back to in-person competitions and also adding a female attorney coach to our already fabulous coaching team.

The case that the trial was based on for this year.
