Dr. Seanna Thompson ’93 was the keynote speaker at the annual Johnson Healthcare Symposium in November. This year’s virtual event theme was “On the Cutting Edge: Innovation in Healthcare.” Seanna’s address was titled “Leadership in Healthcare.” Our alumna is the Senior Regional Medical Director for Mount Sinai South Nassau and an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai both in the New York Metropolitan area. She recently completed both her Masters in Business Administration at Cornell University and a Masters in Healthcare Research and Policy and Healthcare Leadership at the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. We’re so proud of you, Seanna!

Paola Avila ’93, one of our two Alumnae of the Year for 2020 and a co-chair for Boundless: The Campaign for OLP, was appointed the Chief of Staff for the incoming Mayor of San Diego, Todd Gloria. This appointment brings her career full circle since she will be returning to serve Mayor Gloria twenty years after serving former Mayor Dick Murphy as his deputy Chief of Staff. Before joining the Mayor’s staff, Paola served as the Vice-President of International Business Affairs for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce. We love to see our OLP alumna in leadership positions. Way to go, Paola!

Mariel (Oberwager) Molino ’11 is starring in “Locas por el cambio,” available on Amazon Prime. Translated to “Crazy for Change” the movie is the story of two young women, Paula and Paulina, who hate each other and magically swap bodies after a high school reunion. We are so proud of you, Mariel, and can’t wait to see what comes next. Please watch the ABC 10News interview of Mariel, she speaks so lovingly of our alma mater!
